Nathan Gunn, M.D.
Chief Operating Officer
Nathan Gunn, M.D., is the chief operating officer at Robin AI, a ML-powered, voice-enabled digital assistant for doctors.
Robin is like an Alexa for doctors’ offices. Robin lifts the burden of medical documentation and difficult-to-use electronic health records, enabling physicians to focus on what they love: taking care of patients. Using machine learning, Robin is personalized to each doctor, gets inexorably smarter as they use it, and is rapidly and inexpensively scalable.
A member of Robin’s founding team, Dr. Gunn is joined by co-founders Punit Soni (Google) and Karthik Rajan (Salesforce), and Dr. Erin Palm (Stanford). Robin’s technologists hail from Silicon Valley leaders such as Apple, Google, Salesforce, and Oracle. Robin is backed by Venrock, First Round, Social Capital, and Marc Benioff.
Prior to joining Robin AI, Dr. Gunn was an entrepreneur in residence at BCG Digital Ventures. Over the last decade he has held several senior management positions in healthcare IT, including president of population health at Valence Health, and chief operating officer at Verisk Health. Prior to that, he spent four years at McKinsey and Company, focused on improving healthcare delivery. After receiving his medical degree from the University of California (UC) Davis, Dr. Gunn completed his residency in internal medicine at UC San Francisco. He received his bachelor’s degree in molecular and cell biology from UC Berkeley.
